Hikvision launches new PanoVu Series Panoramic Cameras

With ultra-high definition, 180-degree and 360-degree video and powerful Smart Tracking capabilities, the PanoVu Series from Hikvision IP Camera is the most compelling argument ever for panoramic surveillance, suitable for expansive, open-area monitoring

May 31, 2016 Hikvision, the world’s leading supplier in innovative video surveillance products and solutions, introduces its new PanoVu Series Panoramic Security Cameras. The cameras provide 180- and 360-degree, distortion-free, ultra-high-definition video, seamlessly integrating video from multiple sensors in one unit. Add to this the PanoVu’s powerful Smart Tracking abilities, linkage to PTZ and zooming into images at up to 36x optical and 16x digital, its user-friendly installation and configuration, and its ultra-low light performance, and the result is the best equipped high-end panoramic solution on the market.

Powerful all-in-one design
Designed for large-scale security monitoring applications such as stadiums, city centres, airports and parking lots, the PanoVu series allows users to replace multiple IP Camera with one multi-sensor unit – curtailing costs and reducing technical complexity. The traditional surveillance solution for this type of large 180- or 360-degree scene would require several IP CCTV Security Camera and server-level video stitching software to blend the images and create a single panoramic picture. Hikvision’s PanoVu Series is an all-in-one solution which integrates multiple sensors into the one unit, eliminating the need for video stitching software.

The PanoVu Cameras’ all-in-one design allows only one Ethernet and one power supply cable, providing for easy installation and simple configuration. The Hikvision Camera have also been designed to offer easy preview images to further aid in set-up, and to dramatically reduce maintenance times and costs.

Superior low light performance
Hikvision’s low-light colour-imaging leads the industry in performance, and the PanoVu Series Cameras are no exception. The units all incorporate Hikvision’s DarkEye super-large aperture lens, sharing the same ultra-low-light performance with Hikvision’s DarkFighter Series. airsoft holographic sight They are able to capture highly detailed, high resolution colour images in as little light as 0.002 Lux, meaning around-the-clock, 360-degree monitoring is available – critical for high-risk locations like open public spaces in city centres.

Smart tracking and smart functions
Smart Tracking means the PanoVu Cameras support a link to an additional PTZ tracking camera, enabling PanoVu’s powerful zoom capabilities to magnify tiny details in the panoramic image. Smart Tracking allows the simultaneous tracking of multiple targets,12 volt 20 amp power supply  in both auto and manual tracking modes. The cameras also feature a wide range of Smart functions including intrusion detection, line crossing detection, and region entrance and exit detection.

Application-specific models
The PanoVu Series Cameras are available in 8 MP, 180-degree and 16 MP, 360-degree variants, allowing users to select the ideal model for their specific surveillance application. The 16 MP 360-degree models use 8 x 1/1.9″ Progressive Scan CMOS sensors to create their panoramic images, while the 8 MP models incorporate four sensors to generate their 180-degree images. All of the PanoVu Series ip security camera are IP66-rated for use in a wide variety of weather conditions and applications.

Redvision’s new service centre promises fast X-SERIES turnaround

Redvision, the manufacturer of the X-SERIES rugged PTZ and dome, have vowed its new service centre will test, repair, recondition and return a Security Cameras to its customers within one week.

The new service centre is managed by Jack Waterfall who is passionate about customer satisfaction.

Waterfall explained, “X-SERIES rugged PTZ and domes are designed and built in the UK to a very high specification. The majority of repairs are replacing worn parts, which is inevitable for a product with moving parts and seals, especially as some are used continuously.

“However, despite comprehensive operational and soak testing before dispatch, we do occasionally have faults in the mechanism or Hikvision IP Camera module. Whatever the problem, we fix, recondition to the current specification and return the camera to the customer within a week. I am supported by Malcolm Procter, who has over 20 years CCTV engineering experience and expertise and was actively involved in the X-SERIES development, so no issue remains unresolved.”

Redvision ensures customers are kept informed throughout the servicing process. Chargeable repair quotations are issued within 48 hours, but still returned within a week. This time frame even includes a minimum of 24 hour soak testing for all serviced Hikvision Camera modules before dispatch.

Each X-SERIES is re-built to the current Redvision build and software standards, so they are as good as new when they leave. New seals are fitted, to ensure IP67 rating, and then the cameras are pressure tested. All the parts used are Redvision approved and manufactured on site.

Waterfall added: “Our service department not only ensures outstanding customer service, but it also informs and influences our design and manufacture. Every X-SERIES rugged PTZ and dome has thorough traceability, including build-version, assembly procedures and the operatives used. This ensures we meet the highest quality assurance standards with a complete audit trail.”

Samsung Techwin move forward with mobile solutions for transport sector

The new Samsung Techwin SRM-872 mobile network video recorder has been engineered to withstand the rigorous conditions experienced on buses, trams, trains and trucks.

Developed in response to increasing demand from the transport sector for robust IP network based solutions, the ?SRM-872 network video recorder, working in conjunction with two Samsung Techwin camera models which have also been specifically designed for the transport sector, offers a highly effective mobile ONVIF compliant video surveillance monitoring and recording ?solution.

The SRM-872 NVR enables safety and security personnel to review latency free, high definition images of fast moving objects when an emergency or incident needs to be investigated. It achieves this by recording the images captured by 2 megapixel Security Cameras at 60 frames per second through a recording bandwidth of 64Mbts, which ensures image edges are kept sharp and clear, and it can do so simultaneously across all of its eight channels.

Built-in GPS allows for location data to be recorded and whilst a hot-swappable 2.5 HDD can easily be removed for the purposes of backing-up video evidence, the SRM-872 also supports 3G/WiFi modules for on the move video retrieval. ?The compact size of the SRM-872 provides the option to conveniently locate it on or below the vehicles console and a built-in PoE switch minimises installation time.
